Opportunity for Maine’s Seafood Businesses

First, thank you, Hannah, for this wonderful report on multicultural populations and how they can help grow Maine's groundfish and seafood industries.

In this video Quan shows us that there is a large demand for Welk, Jonah crabs all by product catches of lobsters but these valuable products are often thrown back because the lobster industry as well as the Maine seafood industry do not know multicultural markets and its needs. We need to do more and luckily this is just beginning for Maine exploring ways to create new markets and services for people of color.

Special thanks to Quan of Fisherman's Net in Brunswick, if you haven't had their Ban Mi sandwiches, it's worth the drive and thank you to Sea Maine, MTI for their support. Maine has a huge opportunity to expand our marketing and services to multicultural populations in Maine and beyond to grow our economy, create more jobs, and reduce our carbon footprint by selling our local food to local people.
